Our wonderful lunch at The Roebuck on Sunday was let down by being asked to vacate our table as it was needed for a reservation. This was at 4.30pm, when only one other table in the dining room was occupied. The bars were almost empty too. If the table was needed there are more skilful and courteous ways this could have been handled than baldly being asked to leave. The 2 of us had been there a while but had spent over £100 on food and wine and may have ordered more if we had stayed. This abrupt ending to an otherwise perfect lunch – excellent food, service, ambience – all on a lovely summer afternoon, has severely tarnished our views of The Roebuck –which we have always considered to be one of the best Otley eateries until now. Shame.less

would like to offer my gratitude to the chef and waiting staff for a delicious lunch with you today. The food was superb and of a very high standard. Your waiting staff were most attentive to our needs and provided both food and wine most efficiently. My friend and I booked for a 1pm sitting and were happy to continue our conversation and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere. Until we were uncourteously asked to leave. Due to our table supposedly being required soon. Regardless of the fact there were five other tables empty. This was not, in my opinion, an acceptable form of quality "customer service". I am a regular customer to The Roebuck and would have appreciated and expected a more hospitable way of informing us of the need for a table. We felt a "thank you" for our service could have been applied and, perhaps, a different attitude towards our presence may have made a difference. In fact, if we'd felt welcome, we might have stayed for coffee. I will pass this on to Trip Adviser as, to be honest, being a local customer, I am very disappointedless
